Sara Mostafa is a seasoned corporate attorney with nearly two decades of experience representing private companies and individuals across a wide range of transactional matters. Her practice encompasses contract negotiation, entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, financing transactions, employment matters, real estate transactions, and providing outside general counsel services. Sara’s clients span a diverse range of industries, including, without limitation, technology, wealth management, retail, entertainment, wholesale, construction, restaurants, medical practices, marketing, and fitness and nutrition.
Throughout her career, Sara has helped countless entrepreneurs form, grow, and operate their businesses—and many others sell, retire, and begin new chapters of their lives. Sara brings principled, consistent, timely, and responsive client service to her legal practice. She has spent her career committed to the end of not just delivering excellent work product and sound counsel, but making people feel heard, valued, and prioritized.
Sara’s career has taken her through some of the most dynamic legal environments in the country. She began her practice at Cooley LLP, an AM Law 50 firm, in San Diego, where she represented clients in connection with a wide array of sophisticated business transactions. She went on to serve in roles at Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert in Honolulu, Montage Legal Group and Nella Law Group in Southern California, before joining Lobb &; Plewe, LLP, where she served as a Partner for many years.
Sara earned her Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law, where she was a recipient of the Jubas Horn Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed a double major in Economics and International Relations in just three years as a recipient of the AT&T and Lucent Technologies Scholarship. In 2023, she completed Harvard Law School’s Executive Education program in Mergers and Acquisitions: Leading and Structuring Deals. Sara is licensed to practice law in California and Hawaii.
Sara was named a winner of the 2012 Women Who Mean Business Award by the San Diego Business Journal and was selected to the Southern California 2020 Super Lawyers Rising Star List. She has also been published in the Riverside Lawyer Magazine on topics ranging from freelance legal practice to federal legislation affecting women’s rights.
Sara is a dedicated advocate and volunteer for causes relating to women’s and children’s rights. She previously served as a Legal Educator at the Domestic Violence Action Center in Honolulu. Sara is also a proud Girl Scout Troop Leader and a lifelong learner who enjoys world travel, languages—she speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, and French—dressmaking and fashion design, piano, fitness, audiobooks, and her three children.
